Workshop on “Psychosocial care for people affected by Disasters”


 

Expectations are raised out among participants in the workshop on organized by Caritas CCAMH program from 8-10th February, 2010. Common expectations are to gain more experience from the resource person and participants, to know how to do psychosocial care/intervention to the affected people by disasters, learning on the success experience in dealing with the problem and how to educate and consult with the disasters victims in a short term and long term period and so on . read more...




Caritas Asia Forum on “Inclusive Development” through Community Based Rehabilitation


 

64 participants, from 14 different countries, representing Caritas Asia members, local and international partners, community disabled representatives gathered for a 3 days forum on “Inclusive Development” in Phnom Penh. The forum held on 20-22 January, 2010 was a sharing and enriching opportunity for participants discussing on Inclusive Development program which they express their belief in and conviction on Inclusive Communities with the methodology of Community Based Rehabilitation work as a future of the persons with disabilities in Asia.read more...




Training on “Practical Accounting on Internal Control, Monitoring, Accounting Procedure Requirements for 2010”


 

“To be more transparency and accountability in accounting /finance field” is the main objective of the training on the Practical Accountants and Internal Checking and Monitoring conducted by Caritas’s Finance department from 28th- 31st December 2009. Totally 18 accountants from Caritas National and regional offices have come together for a 4-day training at Phnom Penh Caritas National office. Caritas Cambodia Provides 2nd Relief Distribution to The Typhoon Ketsana Affected Families


 

Caritas Cambodia’s disaster management desk is continuing its 2nd relief distribution targeting 6285 families. The distribution covers 4 provinces, of Kampong Thom: 5688 families, from 1-4 December, Kampong Cham and Prey Veng: 489 families from 7-8 December and Preah Vihear is 108 families on 7th December 2009. The 2nd distribution will end on 11 December 2009 in Kampong Thom where 385 families will receive the humanitarian support. read more...

As of Khmer people are welcoming the up coming Khmer New Year which will come on 13th, April, 2008, unfortunately a fire occurred in Tropaing Chhouk village, Tek Thla commune Reussey Keo district in Phnom Penh. Landslides Destroyed 39 houses of people in Samaki village, Reussey Keo district, Phnom Penh


 

39 houses located in Samaki village, Reussey Keo district in Phnom Penh have been destroyed by a river bank collapsed into Tonle Sap at around 2. 45mn pm on the 1 April 2008. There are reportedly 61 families have been much affected by the landslide and leaving them homeless. read more...




Storm hit 229 families in Siem Reap


 

At least 2 people were killed and 8 persons got minor injuries in a storm hit to 229 families in Sosorsdom and Mok Pen communes, Pouk district in Siem Reap provinces at about 4.30 pm on 23 March, 2008 leaving their houses felt down, damaging roofs and wall broken. However, after the incident, people started rebuilding their houses nearby and some families stayed under tents provided by the Cambodian Red Cross and from humanitarian assistance. read more...
