Caritas Australia CEO, Mr. Paul O’Callaghan paid a visit for the first time to Caritas Cambodia office and project. His trip to Cambodia is accompanied by Ms. Kath Rosic, Manager for South East Asia Programs. The trip mixes the visit with some NGO partner organizations of Caritas Australia and its funded projects in the country.

With Caritas Cambodia, the trip started with a meeting with the management team in Phnom Penh before making tour to a project site where he met with representatives of Village Development Association,

Agriculture Cooperative, vegetable production group and several other project activities in Rukhiri district of Battambong province. The day has allowed the team to witness the progress and achievement of the program under the financial support from Caritas Australia.

Besides the visiting of the project, Mr. Paul O’ Callaghan is headed to the Catholic Church in Battambong where he meets Bishop Enrique Figaredo, Chairman of Caritas Cambodia.

During the meeting at Caritas office in Phnom Penh on the morning 07th November 2016, Mr. Paul O’ Callaghan shared the current status of Caritas Australia and is truly committed to a continued partnership with Caritas Cambodia.

Caritas Cambodia Executive Director, Mr. Kim Rattana briefed current organizational structure and operational programs. In addition, he extended sincere thanks and gratitude to Caritas Australia for their support in the target poor communities.

Caritas Australia is one of the major donors to Caritas Cambodia. Its mandate is to support the long-term development programs in impoverished communities and helping oppressed people to rediscover their dignity by taking greater control over their lives and overcoming poverty.
