About Caritas Cambodia
Caritas Cambodia is an official social development arm of the Catholic Church in Cambodia. It has been built on the values of Love, Concern, Justice, Peace Unity, Sharing and brotherhood. With good collaboration and strong support from CARITAS families, NGOs partners, Catholic NGOs alliance and government in national and sub-national level for emergency response to massive migrant workers deported from Thailand at Poi Pet dropping point, Banteay Meanchey province from 17 June 2014 until 27 June 2014, CARITAS Cambodia with other partners worked together to respond and help them back home with peace, safety and dignity especially women and children through picking up them from the Thai trucks to temporary shelter and to local truck or bus to their hometowns along with providing meals package for both of Poi Pet dropping point and along the way of Kralanh and Pursat.



Through our support especially foods and transportation, 27303 Cambodia migrant workers deportees have accessed immediate foods and nutrition and transportation are the most needs for them to reach their hometowns with healthy and safety. 2932 vulnerable migrant workers deportees of who 848 are women and 245 are children have been transported by comfortable buses that Caritas Cambodia rented for them as especially.    Moreover, Caritas Cambodia has continued to support those migrant workers returnees through collaboration with IOM, Ministry of Interior and National Employment Agency (NEA) Ministry of Labor to do rapid assessment and organized the meeting with potential companies and organized recruitment events at different provinces where there are many returnees so that they are able to get immediate employment.

We, together with the government and people of Cambodia take this opportunity to express our profound gratitude towards Caritas Internationalist, all Caritas Members Organization from different continents for their solidarity and wonderful support and assistance in rebuilding the lives of the vulnerable migrant workers deportees especially women with babies and small children.
